Burstlimit’s Week 1 Heroic Power Rankings

“Hello all, I’m the top laner in the Mythic League for team ACE. I go by Burstlimit now simply because I don’t want confusion between me and my brother anymore. After evaluating each team’s op.ggs as well as their matches in the qualifiers, I will rank where I think each team places. This is all predictions and could be completely wrong, please do not look at this with the idea that I am flaming teams.

I want to start off by saying that it is much harder to evaluate these teams’ strengths aside from the top 3 or 4 because every team has autofills - people who are in roles that they don't main.”

8th - PTP

Team Pentakill Teemo Please takes my vote for last place. Again, it’s hard to gauge how strong this team is without seeing them play in their current form. The reason I put them in 8th place is because of the amount of autofills(judging from opgg) that I see. Having players not on their main roles can hinder a team’s ability to synergize.

7th - SWO

Team Sword, like their sister team, has essentially 69 players at their disposal. Whether it be to substitute or for scrimming, this team has all the tools to correctly prepare for future matches. Unlike their Spear counterpart, team Sword lacks in reliability and solo laning. Based off of the games shown, their top laner is a tank player that should play weak side and focus on late game team fighting rather than picking a counter matchup that requires jungle attention.

6th - YUBI

Team Yuumiversal Basic Income showed a strong bot-side consistently throughout the qualifiers. Even when down a kill against team FEC, their ADC and Support’s superior laning caused them to keep a 10 cs lead which shows strength and potential. While their bot lane is strong, it’s obvious that their weakness lies in their topside. When their mid laner, who is autofilled, was in a weak side matchup, he was unable to stay even and keep up. If I were on this team, I would try to keep the top lane on reliable tanks and mid lane on utility or reliable poke so that they can focus around playing for their superior bot lane.

5th - TAS

Last year’s runners up, Team Asorth takes my vote for 5th place. It’s hard to evaluate this team’s current strengths due to them not having any qualifier games, but going off of their last season games, this team is still strong but will falter against the new and stronger teams. TAS had a great top-side duo that was able to exploit INT but their weakness lies in their poor team fighting.

4th - FEC

Team Falcons Esports takes my vote for 4th place. Despite their qualifier game not being as dominant as the other qualifier games, their team fighting was surprisingly organized and their mid had an overwhelming performance which shows great potential. If I was this team, I would focus on playing and drafting around their mid so that they can make rotates to snowball the side lanes once mid lane is just over.

3rd - SPE

Team Spear is a new face to the FoFesports league. Joined with their sister team, Team Sword, Team Spear essentially has 56 players and probably the entirety of the gold-platinum division that isn’t already playing at their disposal, as well as the renowned previous All-Star top laner, ShieldedValor coaching them.

While this team has strong players, their performance against team YUP was… disappointing, to say the least. As most of us know, Team YUP was the team that fell short to qualifying and while their efforts were great, they were virtually the weakest team at Qualifiers. So when a team that is as stacked (on paper) as Team Spear plays a team like team YUP, I expect a clean game. While Team Spear won dominantly against them, their inability to play the mid game properly will cause them to fall against the likes of a team like INT who excels in the mid game, or a team like BBZ who has matching solo-laners.

2nd - BBZ

This team has the best individual players outside of probably their bot lane duo, which is still strong but can probably be bested by the likes of Team INT or FEC’s bot lane duo. Initially, I took Blue Bayou Zoo as the best team in the league. After watching their qualifying game against SWO, I bumped this team’s rank down to second because of their inability to play the mid game more efficiently. It felt as if they were getting away with many macro errors that only worked out because of how fed they were. It’s hard to evaluate a team’s team fighting ability when they are just running around killing everyone, which won’t happen against teams like INT.

1st - INT

The reigning champions In The Trees, led by BrockExplodeLee87, takes my vote for first place. Team INT essentially ran the entire Platinum-under league with their superior top-jungle duo as well as having, in my opinion, still the best bot lane duo. When watching last season’s games, it almost felt like even when INT was behind with their top side losing, their superior macro and preparation in their draft kept them in the front seat.

Despite this team being so well rounded, their weakness lies within their mid lane. EvolvedNewb is by no means a weak player but his inability to go even against players like EliteStrik could end up being an issue when they face teams who have even better mids paired with strong side laners.
